Investing in Education

At First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard, we believe one of the best investments we can make is in the potential of our young people. That's why we offer $2,000 scholarships per school year to community-minded high school seniors. We offer both a Community Scholarship and a PREMIER Employee Dependent Scholarship. Please carefully read eligibility and application requirements below before submitting your application. Applications for the 2023/2024 school year must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. (CT) on Friday, March 17, 2023.

Community Scholarship Eligibility

  • Parent or student must have a deposit account (checking or savings) with First PREMIER Bank. Not applicable for Huron High School or Dakota Valley High School.
  • Student must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Student must be a high school senior planning to attend an accredited South Dakota college, university, technical school, junior college or community college.
  • Must be planning to attend the fall semester of the current school year.

Employee Dependent Eligibility

  • Student must have a parent or guardian that is actively employed with First PREMIER Bank or PREMIER Bankcard.
  • Parent or student must have a deposit account (checking or savings) with First PREMIER Bank.
  • Student must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be planning to attend the fall semester of the current school year.

Application Requirements

  • To be considered for a scholarship, applications must be completed in full and submitted by 11:59 p.m. (CT) on Friday, March 17, 2023. Please include a senior photo and the following information in separate attached documents:

    • Leadership and Community Service (20 points)
      • Summary of awards, recognitions and activities. (i.e. athletic letters, music or drama ratings, etc.)
      • Leadership positions, number of years and number of hours of participation. (i.e. clubs, athletics, church, etc.)
      • Work history, length of employment at each position and number of hours worked.
    • Character (20 points)
      • Write a 100-word or less description of yourself and include three community or leadership characteristics that you believe qualify you for this scholarship.
    • Academic Qualifications (10 points)
      • Please attach a high school transcript.

     

Not a First PREMIER Bank Customer?

To be eligible for our scholarships, you or your parent(s) must have a deposit (checking or savings) account with First PREMIER Bank. You can open one online in about four minutes or at any First PREMIER Bank location.
