Lake Area Technical College
Dana J. Dykhouse Business Center and Advanced Manufacturing Hall on the campus of Lake Area Technical College in Watertown honors First PREMIER Bank CEO Dana J. Dykhouse.
Funding for the center is a private/public initiative between First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard and the state of South Dakota. PREMIER provided an $8 million gift and then-South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem allocated additional one-time funding of $7.5 million to assist with the Archway project.
- A public ribbon cutting was held in September 2024 for the two-story 29,000 square-foot Archway/Business Center
and the three-story 16,800 square-foot Advanced Manufacturing Center. - The ribbon cutting event was attended by champion of trade schools and host of Dirty Jobs, Mike Rowe.
Dana Dykhouse has played an important role in advancing technical education in South Dakota and is the current chair of the South Dakota Board of Technical Education and chairs the Build Dakota Scholarship board.
