First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard Donates $1 Million to Sioux Empire United Way
Continuing our commitment to caring for the communities in which we do business, First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard have committed to donate $1 million to the Sioux Empire United Way 2018 Campaign Year.
The $1 million gift is the largest that the Sioux Empire United Way has received from a single organization and its employees. First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard’s corporate and employee pledge for 2018 totaled $852,992. T. Denny Sanford, owner of the PREMIER organizations, added $147,008 to the pledge in honor of the long-standing relationship the company and its associates have had with the Sioux Empire United Way.
“Since the United Way began its local campaign efforts in 1929, December has been a crucial month for fundraising,” said Jay Powell, President of the Sioux Empire United Way. Powell continued, “With a goal of $10,057,891, the PREMIER contribution represents nearly 10% of the total required to fund each of the 40 local agencies supported by the Sioux Empire United Way, which provide assistance to one in three citizens in Minnehaha, Lincoln, Turner & McCook counties.”
“We believe our organization can only be successful if our community continues to be successful,” said Dana Dykhouse, CEO of First PREMIER Bank. Miles Beacom, CEO and President of PREMIER Bankcard added, “Our organizations strongly believe in the impact of the Sioux Empire United Way and have seen the benefits first-hand. In fact, our employee participation rate in Sioux Falls for 2018 was 95%.”
The gift was presented to Jay Powell, President of the Sioux Empire United Way at the Sioux Falls Convention Center on Wednesday, December 20th during the annual PREMIER Holiday Staff Meeting.
